The columnist Uğur Mumcu, known for his political writings, narrates the life stories and political backgrounds of many famous figures who were prominent in political life before 1980 and left their mark on certain periods, all while doing it with the skills of a humourist in this book.
The life stories that Mumcu published under the pseudonym Mehmet Ferda in “Politika” and “Çivi” newspapers during that period are like identity cards for the famous, elder! Turkish figures of that time. For young readers, some of these supposedly famous individuals may be unfamiliar. But let them not be unjust; aren't there many examples of such 'celebrities' even today? If they were to replace the names in the book with the names of contemporary celebrities they know today, they would see that not much would change.
